According to a social entrepreneur in North Gyeongsang Province, work with social value becomes an asset and can generate debt to make it a bigger asset.

In a keynote speech at the Forum on "Social Value, Saving the Economy" held at the Myeongdong Bank Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul on December 22, 2017, Alexander Barcawi, secretary-general of the Swiss Economic Policy Committee, said, "To increase the happiness of the people, the concept of social value must be integrated into all policies. In particular, it is important to reflect social values in economic policies such as budget, finance, and trade. The National Statistical Office should also measure social value indicators."

Social value-related work and activities are essential factors for increasing the overall size of society and for our economic society to develop sustainably. Many local activists who engage in social value activities that create markets must be produced.

The Korean government announced a plan to revitalize the social economy at the 3rd Job Committee in October 2017 and is laying the institutional foundation by enacting the Social Value Realization Act, the Social Economy Act, and the Special Act on Promotion and Market Support of Social Economy Enterprises.

Creating social values comes naturally when we think and care about what the social problems around us are.

경북의 한 사회적기업가에 따르면 사회적 가치가 있는 일은 곧 자산이 되며 부채를 발생시켜 더 큰 자산으로 만들 수 있다고 힘주어 얘기한다.

2017년 12월 22일 서울 중구 명동 은행회관에서 열린 ‘사회적 가치, 경제를 살리다’ 포럼 기조 연설에서 알렉산더 바르카위스 스위스 경제정책위원회 사무총장은 “국민의 행복을 높이려면 사회적 가치 개념이 모든 정책에 통합돼야 한다. 특히 예산과 금융, 무역 등 경제 정책에 사회적 가치를 반영하는 게 중요하다. 통계청도 사회적 가치 지표를 측정해야 한다.”라고 했다.

사회적 가치 관련 일과 활동은 사회 전체 규모를 늘리고 우리 경제 사회가 지속 가능하게 발전하는 데 꼭 필요한 요소이다. 시장을 창출하는 사회적 가치 활동을 하는 지역활동가들이 많이 배출되어야만 한다.

우리 정부는 사회적 경제를 활성화하기 위한 방안을 2017년 10월 대통령 주재 제3차 일자리위원회에서 발표했으며 사회적 경제 3법인 사회적가치실현법, 사회적경제법, 사회적 경제 기업 구매 촉진 및 판로 지원에 관한 특별법을 제정해 제도적 기반을 마련하고 있다.

사회적 가치를 창조하는 일은 우리 주변의 사회적 문제가 무엇인지를 생각하고 관심을 가질 때 자연스럽게 나온다.
