카뮈는 인생이 무의미하게 느껴짐에도 살아나가라 조언한다. 그리고 그 안에서 자유로움을 추구하며 살아가는 것을 멈추지 말라고 했다.

자유롭게 사는 가운데 삶의 의미를 깨우쳐 나가는 것이 인생이란 고통스러운 가시밭 길을 헤쳐나가는 길이다.
