포스트코로나시대는 한 시대의 종말로 찾아온 새로운 시대를 의미하며 지금 세상은 코로나19 펜데믹 이전과 이후의 역사로 기록되고 있다.

또한 아무도 보지 않는 곳에서도 당연히 준수해야만 하는 도덕과 상식의 시대로 접어들고 있다. 방역 지침대로 행동한다면 코로나19에 감염될 위험성은 줄어들지만 비상식적인 일탈행위은 감염을 초래한다. 

다음은 정연섭 [크로의 과학과 철학] 저자의 코로나19 백신 이후에 대한 칼럼 글 내용 일부를 발췌하여 줄인 내용이다. 과학자의 정교한 미래 예측 분석으로 사람들에게 희망을 안겨다 주고 있다.

코로나 기간에는 암울한 소식에 억눌려 내일을 준비할 의욕이 없었지만 이제 희망을 노래하여 보자. 필자도 코로나 이후의 경제상황을 전망하여 진로를 정하고 주식 종목도 교체해야 한다. 산책하시는 분들을 위해 지난 주말에 길옆의 말라버린 풀을 베어내고 땅도 일구었다. 지난봄 홀로 피었다가 홀로 진 벚꽃의 슬픔을 오는 봄에는 겪지 않았으면 한다.

더 중요한 교훈은 인간은 수많은 전염병을 모두 극복하고 새로운 시대를 열었다는 사실이다. 따라서 이번 코로나19에도 인류는 백신 이후를 기대할 자격이 있고 새로운 시대의 향한 숙제를 알 필요가 있다.

전염병은 지구 탄생과 함께 인류를 괴롭혔지만 인간은 극복하여 왔다. 인간은 결코 전염병에 굴복하여 마스크 착용이나 거리두기를 삶의 영구적 방식으로 받아들이지 않았다. 인간은 본능을 거스리는 장애물과 전염병을 제거하기까지 지식과 과학을 진척시켰다.

코로나19로 잠시 마스크를 착용했지만 곧 벗어난다. 일부 사람들은 코로나19를 과학문명의 저주로 오해하지만 인류는 이전 사회로 역행할 수는 없다. 원시 시회였다면 코로나19로 피해가 더 컸을 것이다. 필자가 코로나19 이후 사회에 대해 몇 가지 진보 방향을 제시했지만 변화는 독자의 몫이다

*정연섭 과학자는 50여 편 논문 발표, 10여 건의 특허를 등록했다. 원전 설계 및 수출로 한국원자력학회 기술상, 산자부 표창을 받았고 '크로의 과학사냥'을 저술했다. 번뜩이는 미래 통찰력이 돋보인다.
