Located on the Nakdonggang River in Bisan-dong, Gumi-si, the Bisan Ferry was operated by a ferry between Bisan-dong and Jojo-dong until 1985, and was used by residents, students, workers, and farmers.

This is a historic place known as the Battle of Bisanjin, which established the foundation for the Incheon Landing Operation and the counterattack by fixing North Korean troops trying to cross the river from the Nakdonggang River defense line during the Korean War.

It is known that in mid-July 1934, 450mm of heavy rain caused a great flood, and the river that flowed through the front of Jisan Mountain and through the Bisan Ferry flowed across the Hojo-dong area, so the old Bisan Ferry disappeared and the current Bisan Ferry was created. It can be seen that dozens of other fields, including Bisan-dong No. 1, are in the middle of the river, and the local number of Jojo-dong runs through the river to Jisan-dong.

It is said that cows, pigs, chickens, and vegetables were transported to nearby five-day markets such as Gumi and Jangcheon, and on weekends, many citizens came and went to and from Gumi River and Gangseo.

Around the old Bisan Ferry, there were Nakseojeong Pavilion and Bisanhyanggyo Bridge built by Hyeongam Iji during the reign of King Sukjong of the Joseon Dynasty, and Galmoe Market, where handicrafts such as herring and salt of the sea, grains in the upper Nakdonggang River, and Onggi were traded.

In particular, Dangsan behind the Bisan Ferry is a place where the Gumi Industrial Complex is located by blocking the Nakdonggang River and forming a delta.

Therefore, local residents here say that it is currently up to us to preserve and manage the area around the Bisan Ferry.

The Bisan Ferry area, which was the center of logistics, water transportation, and fishermen, is suitable for underwater tunnels and underwater aquariums.

In addition, the wide water in front of the Bisan Ferry, located at the main point of the Nakdonggang River, is excellent as a future tourism resource because it has good conditions for watercraft and others to take off.

구미시 비산동 낙동강에 위치한 비산나루터는 1985년까지 비산동과 양호동 간 나룻배가 운행되어 주민을 비롯해 학생, 근로자, 농민들이 이용했다.

이곳은 6.25전쟁 당시 낙동강 방어선에서 강을 건너려는 북한군 전력을 고착시키고 인천상륙작전과 반격의 발판을 마련한 비산진 전투로 알려진 역사적인 곳이다.

1934년 갑술년 7월 중순 450mm의 폭우로 대홍수가 발생하여 지산 앞들을 지나 비산나루터를 흐르던 강줄기가 양호동 지역을 가로질러 흐르게 되어 옛 비산나루터는 사라지고 지금의 비산나루터가 생겼다고 알려져 있다. 그 사실은 비산동 1번지 외 수 십 필지가 강 한복판에 있고 양호동 지번이 강을 지나 지산동까지 이어지고 있다는 것으로 알 수 있다.

구미, 장천 등 인근의 5일장이 되면 소와 돼지와 닭 그리고 채소류 등을 실어 날랐고 주말이면 많은 시민들이 왕래하여 구미강동과 강서를 연결하는 소통의 길목이었다고 한다.

옛 비산 나루터 주변에는 조선 숙종때 현감 이지가 세운 낙서정과 비산향교가 있었으며, 바다의 청어와 소금, 낙동강 상류지방의 곡물, 옹기 등 인근의 수공예품이 거래되는 갈뫼시장이 있어 물류와 수상교통의 중심지가 되었다.

특히 비산나루터 뒤 당산은 낙동강 물줄기를 가로막아 삼각주를 형성시켜 구미공단이 있게 한 공단의 시원이라고 할 수 있는 곳이다.

따라서 이곳 지역민들은 비산나루터 주변을 잘 보존하고 관리하는 것은 현재 우리들의 몫이라고 말한다.

물류와 수상교통 그리고 어부들의 중심지였던 비산나루터 일대는 수중터널과 수중 아쿠아리움이 자리잡기에 적격이다.

또한 낙동강의 요지에 위치한 비산나루터 앞 넓은 수면은 수상경비행기 등이 이륙하기에 좋은 조건을 갖추고 있어 미래의 관광자원으로서 훌륭하다.
