Humans are extremely selfish beings who live a self-centered life.

For different reasons, each other's thoughts and circumstances are prejudiced without the depth of knowledge of the other person, and sometimes they are hurt by terrible quarrels.

Some people are unfair and others are pleased with the result of the quarrel that only they claim is right under the mask of hypocrisy, but it is only human's limit to accumulate resentment amid the collapse of the balance of the scale.

Unless you give up being a human being, it is a true person who understands that the cause of the quarrel lies with each other and tries to improve the wrong way of life.

The following is a question presented by poet Kim Joo-deok, a prominent lawyer who deals with human hypocrisy. Many people live under the mask of hypocrisy, but knowing how to look at themselves objectively in order to live a true life is also a wise person's situation.

(objective question) Which of the following hypocrites should be criticized the most?

① A person who doesn't do it properly at home, but who is kind and does volunteer work hard outside

② a person who makes a name for himself in the political arena without paying professors' salaries and giving lectures hard

③ A person who don't give a penny to a close relative and donate a fortune to go to heaven alone before he dies

④ a religious clergyman who lives in luxury and plays tricks on the goddesses

⑤ a lawyer or doctor who works in a professional profession and is ripped off without a sense of duty

(subjective question) There are so many hypocrites like this in our society. What should we call a man who is seen by people with hypocrisy and pretence, who cares for personal gain, and who has fame?

인간은 자기본위의 삶을 살아가는 지극히 이기적인 존재다.

서로의 생각과 처해진 환경이 다른 이유로 인해 상대에 대한 앎의 깊이가 없는 상태에서 편견을 갖게 되어 때로는 지독한 다툼으로 인해 상처를 입게 된다.

위선의 탈을 쓴채 자신만이 옳다고 주장하는 다툼의 결과에 대해 누군가는 억울하고 누군가는 통쾌해 하지만 결국 저울의 균형이 무너진 가운데 원망만 쌓이는게 인간의 한계이다.

인간이기를 포기하지 않은 이상 다툼의 원인은 서로에게 있다는 사실을 이해하고 잘못된 삶의 방식을 개선하도록 노력하는 것이 진실된 자의 모습이다.

다음은 인간의 위선에 대하여 다룬 저명한 법률가인 김주덕 시인이 출제한 문제이다. 많은 사람들이 위선의 탈을 쓰고 살아가지만 진실된 삶을 살기 위해 자신의 모습을 객관성있게 바라볼 줄 아는 것 또한 현명한 자의 처세이다.

(객관식 문제) 다음 중 가장 비난을 받아야 하는 위선자는 누구일까요?

① 집에서는 제대로 하지 않고, 밖에 나가서는 친절하고 봉사 열심히 하는 사람

② 교수 월급 받고 강의는 열심히 하지 않고 정치판에서 이름을 날리는 사람

③ 가까운 친척에게는 1원 한푼 안 주고, 죽기 전에 혼자 천당 가려고 거액을 기부하는 사람

④ 신앙심이 투철한 성직자라고 하면서 호화생활하며 여신도까지 농락하는 사람

⑤ 변호사나 의사로서 전문직종에서 일하면서 사명감 없이 바가지나 씌우는 사람

(주관식 문제) 우리 사회에는 이런 위선자들이 너무 많습니다. 위선과 가식으로 사람들에게 잘 보이고, 개인적인 이익이나 챙기고 게다가 명예까지 걸머지는 사람을 우리는 무엇이라고 불러야 할까요?
