Servant leadership refers to leadership that shares goals with subordinates and promotes subordinates' growth to strengthen trust between leaders and subordinates, resulting in the organization achieving the desired performance.

Former South Gyeongsang Province Governor Kim Doo-kwan, a sample of servant leadership, recently visited the Gumi National Industrial Complex and took a step as a preliminary candidate for the presidential election.

Kim Doo-kwan was elected as the chairman the following year after forming the Namhae Farmers' Association in 1987, and in 1989, he led the founding of the Namhae Newspaper through a shareholder contest by local residents.

In June 1995, he ran for the head of Namhae-gun in the first national simultaneous local elections, became the youngest head of the country at the age of 37, and was elected governor of Gyeongnam in June 2010.

Some evaluated Kim Doo-kwan as a candidate for selection that President Roh Moo Hyun tried to learn along with.

서번트 리더십의 표본인 김두관 전 경남지사가 최근 구미국가산단을 방문하여 대권 예비후보로서의 행보를 보였다.

김두관은 1987년 남해농민회를 결성 후 이듬해 이장에 선출됐고, 1989년에는 지역주민 주주공모로 남해신문 창간을 주도한 인물이다.

1995년 6월 민선 1기 전국 동시 지방선거에서 남해군수에 출마하여 당시 37세의 나이로 전국 최연소 단체장이 되었으며 2010년 6월에 경남지사에 당선됐다.

혹자는 김두관을 일컬어 노무현 대통령이 따라 배우려한 발탁대상으로 평가하였다.
