At the 21st Century Humanities Value Forum held at the Andong Traditional Resort Cloud, members of the Visit History Conservation Society sang visit lyrics expressing pain, frustration, and hope in the lives of women who are unprecedentedly difficult to find in the world under the theme of "Singing in Korean."

Naebanggasa is a literature that has been enjoyed by noble women in the northern part of Yeongnam under the names of "Gasa" or "Durumari."

Women from noble families in Gyeongsangbuk-do, where the male-centered Confucian life culture was traditionally deeply rooted, were forced to live under stricter Confucian norms than women in other regions.

The guest house was a literary way that the aristocrats chose as a way to live an elegant cultural life while venting the suppressed emotions of women.

According to the Haengto Culture Electronic Exhibition, the lyrics of the visit began after the reign of King Yeongjo in the 18th century and are still being created through the flowering period. In the form of 4.4-4 notes, it mainly consists of complaining of worries and emotions in the bound lives of lovers, laying the norms of aristocratic society on the floor, such as manners, filial piety, and the pain of marriage.

The inner room lyrics handed down to the Seonsan Gumi area include Youth Jatanga, Widow, Ganunsa Temple, Lee's Hoesimgok, and Geumosan Mountain Chaemijeong Tourist Song.

In the center of Confucian culture, where half of Yeongnam talent was born, it is hoped that the culture of preserving the lyrics of the visit, which contains the joys and sorrows of women who devoted their lives to the study of the scholars, will continue.

‘안동 전통리조트 구름에’에서 펼쳐진 21세기 인문가치포럼에서 한글날을 맞아 내방가사 전승보존회 회원들이 “조선의 여인, 한글로 노래하다”라는 주제로 전 세계에서도 유례를 찾기 어려운 여성들의 삶 속 고통, 좌절, 희망 등을 표현한 내방가사를 경창했다.

내방가사는 영남 북부 지역의 양반 부녀자들이 ‘가사’ 또는 ‘두루마리’란 이름 아래 향유해 왔던 문학이다.

전통적으로 남성 중심의 유교적 생활 문화가 뿌리 깊게 자리하고 있었던 경북 지역의 양반 집안 여성들은 타 지역의 여성들보다 더욱 엄격한 유교적 규범에 속박된 생활을 할 수밖에 없었다. 

내방가사는 양반가 여성들의 억압된 정서를 분출하면서도 기품 있는 문화생활의 활로로 선택한 문학적 방편이었다.

행토문화전자대전에 따르면 내방가사는 18세기 영조 대 이후 시작되어 개화기를 거쳐 현재까지도 창작되고 있다. 4.4조의 4음보 형식 속에서 주로 예의범절, 부모에 대한 효도, 현모양처의 도리, 시집살이의 괴로움 등 양반 사회의 규범을 바닥에 깔고 연인들의 속박된 생활 속에서의 고민과 정서를 호소하는 내용으로 이루어져 있다.

선산 구미 지역에 전하고 있는 내방가사로는 청춘자탄가, 과부, 간운사, 이씨 회심곡, 금오산 채미정 유람가 등이다.

영남인재의 반이 탄생한 유교문화의 중심지에서 선비들의 글공부 뒷바라지에 평생을 바친 여인들의 희노애락이 담겨 있는 내방가사를 전승보존할 수 있는 문화가 이어지길 기대한다.
