The 21st century stone pagoda, located from the entrance of Geumosan Mountain Judeungsan-ro, was built as a total of 21 stone pagodas to commemorate the upcoming 21st century with the will of Gumi citizens from March to October 1999.

The stone pagoda, which has been 21 years since the 21st century, has become a representative attraction of Geumosan Mountain and will continue to welcome hikers in the same place forever.

Looking back on the past 21 years, the world under Geumosan Mountain has undergone so many changes.

After the IMF, people and companies, who had fallen into the abyss of despair and struggled at the bottom of their lives, overcame trials and adversity and adapted to the new environment in some form.

Numerous things have happened and are facing new changes, but the Geumosan Mountain stone pagoda always shows its unwavering appearance in the same place. The same is true of men. He longs for a big change, but he cannot change his natural appearance.

I hope to continue to live an unchanged life like a stone pagoda in the 21st century.

금오산 주등산로 입구에서부터 위치한 돌탑21세기는 1999년 3월부터 10월까지 구미시민들의 뜻을 모아 다가오는 21세기를 기념하기 위해 총 21기의 돌탑으로 축조되었다.

21세기 들어 21년이 지난 돌탑21세기의 위용은 금오산을 대표하는 볼거리로 자리 잡았고 앞으로도 영원히 같은 자리에서 등산객들을 반겨줄 것이다.

지난 21년을 되돌아 보면 금오산 아래 세상은 참으로 많은 변화를 겪었다.

IMF 이후 절망의 나락으로 떨어져 삶의 밑바닥에서 허우적 거리던 사람들과 기업들은 시련과 역경을 딛고 어떠한 형태로든 새로운 환경에 적응했다.

그동안 수많은 일들이 일어났고 새로운 변화를 맞이하고 있으나 금오산 돌탑은 언제나 같은 자리에서 변함없는 자태를 보여준다. 사람도 마찬가지다. 큰 변화를 갈망하지만 인간 본연의 모습을 변할 수 가 없다.

앞으로도 21세기 돌탑과 같은 변함없는 삶을 살기를 희망한다.
