In the age of new media, smart device users leave behind numerous digital footprints of their footprints.

The digital footprint left by humans is analyzed by algorithms for individual characteristics. The filter bubble algorithm is an analysis of what humans want and what they like, and it brings content that matches it. In the background of all this, an algorithm works that stimulates human raw desire for possession.

In a flood of information that is rushing in, humans tend to believe as they appear. In some cases, false prejudices may occur due to confirmation bias.

Respect and consideration for others have also disappeared due to human selfishness and greed.

In the age of artificial intelligence, when humans engage in unhuman behavior, there is a possibility that artificial intelligence will perceive humans as virus-like beings.

We must live a life that reflects on the importance of human values that have been formed for thousands of years and thinks about the duties and obligations to be done as humans in the future.

Mahatma Gandhi was on her way to the second roundtable in London in September 1931, when she left the following words about the meaning of life to the customs officer of Marseille.

"All I have as a poor footstep is a spinning wheel, a rice bowl, a can of goat's milk, six shabby blankets, a towel and no great reputation."

Monk Beopjeong, who thought of enlightenment in Gandhi's words, said that when anyone disappears from the world, they go back empty-handed, and we are bound by something and lead a preached life.

Human history is all in constant possession. Therefore, the philosophy of non-possession, that one can achieve true peace and freedom by abandoning one's desire for possession, is something to look back on in the new media era.

뉴미디어시대에  스마트기기를 사용하는 사람들은 수많은 자신의 디지털 발자국을 남긴다.

인간이 남긴 디지털 발자국은 알고리즘에 의해 개개인의 특성이 분석된다. 필터버블 알고리즘은 인간이 무엇을 원하는지, 무엇을 좋아하는지에 대한 분석으로 그에 걸맞는 콘텐츠들을 가져다 준다. 이 모든 것의 배경에는 인간의 원초적인 소유욕을 자극하는 알고리즘이 작동한다.

물 밀듯이 밀려오는 정보의 홍수 속에 인간은 보이는 그대로 믿는 경향이 있다. 확증편향으로 인해 잘못된 선입견을 갖게 되는 일도 발생한다.

인간의 이기심과 욕심으로 인해 타인에 대한 존중과 배려 또한 사라져 가는 세상이 되었다.

인공지능 시대에 인간이 인간답지 못한 행위를 하게 될 때, 인공지능은 인간을 바이러스와 같은 존재로 인식하게 될 가능성도 있다.

수천년간 형성되어 온 인간의 가치에 대한 중요성에 대해 되새겨 보고, 앞으로인간으로서 해야할 도리와 의무에 대해서도 생각하는 삶을 살아야 한다.

마하트마 간디가 1931년 9월 런던에서 열린 제2차 원탁회의에 참석하기 위해 가던 도중에 마르세유 세관원에게 삶의 의미에 대해 다음과 같은 말을 남겼다.

“나는 가난한 탁발승으로 가진 거라고는 물레와 밥그릇 염소젖 한 깡통, 허름한 담요 여섯 장, 수건 그리고 대단치 않은 평판 밖에 없다”

간디의 말에 깨닮음을 생각한 법정스님은 누구나 이 세상에서 사라질 때는 빈손으로 돌아가기 마련인데, 우리들은 무엇인가에 얽매여 주객이 전도된 삶을 살아간다고 말했다.

인간의 역사가 모두 끊임없는 소유사에 있다. 따라서 소유욕을 버려야 진정한 평화와 자유를 얻을 수 있다는 무소유 철학은, 지금 뉴미디어 시대에 되새겨 볼 말이다.
