The movie "Spring of Seoul" is shedding new light on the past history of General Jang Tae-wan, who was born in Chilgok, North Gyeongsang Province (520-1).

Veterans maintain higher moral standards through their responsibilities and obligations as soldiers, and serve the state and organization through constant professional improvement.

It protects the interests of the country through strong loyalty and dedication, while at the same time demonstrating leadership that leads its colleagues.

In addition, the core value of a true soldier is to make high demands on oneself through self-control and strict standards and not lose dignity under any circumstances.

His sad family history weighs heavily on General Jang Tae-wan, who even conservative media recognize as a veteran.

After December 12, General Jang Tae-wan's tragic family history continued.

General Jang Tae-wan's father, Jang Seok-hyeon-ong, saw his son being taken to a security guard on TV after the 12.12 incident, cut off the music, and died on April 18, 1980 after suffering.

Jang Seong-ho, Jang Tae-wan's son, who entered Seoul National University's College of Nature in 1982, was found with a mysterious body near his grandfather's grave near Jang's office in Chilgok County, Gyeongsangbuk-do, in April that year, shortly after the general was forcibly booked.

General Jang Tae-wan is said to be cradling his son's body and trying to save the shape of his unrecognizable face. The only way to express the feelings of parents, whose hearts collapsed and tears covered their eyes, was through wailing.

Jang Tae-wan's wife, Lee Byung-ho, suffered from depression after Jang Tae-wan's death in 2010 and made the extreme choice to leave a suicide note in January 2012.

Currently, General Jang Tae-wan has an only daughter, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren.

영화 서울의 봄으로 인해 경북 칠곡 신동(520-1) 태생의 장태완 장군의 과거사에 대해 재조명되고 있다.

참군인은 자신의 군인으로서의 책임과 의무를 통해 더 높은 도덕적 기준을 유지하며, 끊임없는 전문성 향상을 통해 국가와 조직에 봉사한다. 

투철한 충성과 헌신으로 인해 국가의 이익을 지키는 동시에, 동료들을 이끄는 리더십을 발휘한다. 

더불어 자기 통제와 엄격한 기준을 통해 자신에게도 높은 요구를 하며, 어떤 상황에서도 품위를 잃지 않는 것이 참군인의 핵심 가치이다.

보수 언론에서도 참군인으로 인정하고 있는 장태완 장군에 대한 선양에 앞서 그의 슬픈 가족사는 마음을 무겁게 만든다.

12.12 이후 장태완 장군의 비극적인 가족사가 이어졌다. 

장태완 장군의 부친 장석현옹은 12.12사태 후 TV 등을 통해 보안사로 끌려가는 아들의 모습을 보고 곡기를 끊었으며 시름속에 지내다 1980년 4월 18일 세상을 떠났다.

1982년 서울대 자연대에 수석 입학한 장태완의 아들 장성호는 장군이 강제 예편 당한 직후인 그 해 4월 인동 장씨 재실 근처인 경북 칠곡군 낙동강변 할아버지 묘소 인근에서 의문의 주검으로 발견됐다.

장태완 장군은 아들의 주검을 부둥켜 안고 알아볼 수 없는 얼굴 형체를 살리려고 애썻다고 한다. 가슴이 무너지고 눈물이 앞을 가리는 부모의 심경은 통곡으로 밖에 표할 수 없었다.

장태완의 부인 이병호 여사는 2010년 장태완 사망 이후 우울증을 앓다가 2012년 1월 유서를 남기고 투신하는 극단적 선택을 했다.

현재 장태완 장군의 후손은 외동딸과 사위 그리고 외손녀 2명이 있다.
