This is the most important function of the media that can influence social behavior and attitudes, so careful, rational, and objective content delivery is necessary.

언론 홍보비 집행의 불만으로 인한 이의제기였다. 

지난해 홍보비로 언론 길들이기를 하고 있다며 불만을 갖고 있어 이에 대해 속시원히 후련하게 일갈했다는 언론인들의 반응도 있는 반면에 탐탁치 않는 시선으로 보는 언론도 있다.

언론인의 말은 사적인 감정과 공적인 감정을 구분하여 전달해야 한다. 

대다수의 언론은 공정과 상식을 원칙으로 한다.

하지만 언론은 칼 날 위에 서 있는 일이다. 

양날의 칼과 같은 얼굴을 가진 언론을 대할 때는 항상 신중하게 받아들이고 그 의도를 깊게 파악할 필요가 있다.

공정과 상식을 내뱉는 언론이지만 그 한줄 기사로 인해 상상을 초월하는 파급효과를 끼치는 경우도 있기 때문이다.

언론은 현대 사회에서 매우 중요한 역할을 수행한다.

레거시미디어에서 뉴미디어로 진화한 언론매체의 발달로 인해 언론은 사회적으로 다양한 일을 수행하고 있다.

언론의 주요기능은 정보전달과 보급이다. 언론은 사회에서 일어나는 다양한 사건과 이슈에 대한 정보를 수집 및 조사하고 전달함으로써 대중에게 정보를 제공한다.

이는 시민들이 사회 및 국제적인 상황을 이해하고 판단하는 데 도움이 된다.

무엇보다도 언론은 사회적인 가치와 도덕과 윤리 등에 대한 이해를 형성하고 대중의 감정을 이끌어내는 데 영향을 미친다. 이는 사회적인 행동과 태도에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 언론의 가장 중요한 기능이므로 신중하고 합리적이며 객관적인 내용 전달이 필요하다.

언론은 긴급 상황과 재난 발생 시에 빠르게 정보를 전달하여 대중에게 안전한 대처 방법을 제공한다.  신속한 정보를 알림으로써 도움이 필요한 지역을 신속하게 파악하여 구호 및 지원을 조직하는 데 기여한다.

이러한 역할들을 통해 언론은 자유롭고 투명한 사회의 기반이 될 수 있다.

하지만 언론도 편향된 보도와 허위 정보와 광고 등으로부터 자유로울 수 없으며 항상 객관적이고 신뢰성 있는 정보를 제공하기 위해 노력해야 한다.
